Fortunato
Montefalco Sagrantino D.O.C.G.
Dry Red Wine
The winery’s emblem, Il Sagrantino, Fortunato. The first official document mentioning Sagrantino dates back to the 16th century and is kept in the notarial archives of the city of Assisi.
At the end of the nineteenth century, due to wars and reconstructions, the disappearance of the prestigious grape variety was threatened. But, thanks to the foresight of skilled winemakers, Sagrantino returned to being the princely vine of the Montefalco area and, progressively, of the entire Umbria region.
